Earlier today, the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which carries traffic over the Patapsco River, was hit by a container ship. Unfortunately, the collision caused the bridge to collapse and resulted in the rerouting of interstate traffic and the stoppage of cargo traffic entering and leaving the port.

Currently, it is too early to determine the impact on human life, but our thoughts are with the injured, those needing rescue, and their families.

USALCO has assembled a team to assess the immediate impact of this tragic event on our supply chain and the long-term implications. In the short term, we anticipate shipping delays at our Baltimore Facility because of traffic routing and congestion, and our team is currently working to determine if there are any potential impacts on active pickups, deliveries, or shipments currently en route.
