USALCO Provides Statement on International Longshoremen Association (ILA) Port Strike
Effective October 1, 2024, the International Longshoremen (ILA) have instituted a strike against the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX), which represents ocean carriers and port operators for East Coast and Gulf Coast Ports.
Several weeks ago, USALCO proactively began engaging our raw material suppliers to understand potential supply shortages that could be prevented if the strike was announced. Our suppliers have notified us as an organization that we are not expecting to see any raw material supply disruptions because of the strike.
The USALCO supply chain team and our suppliers partner with private inbound ports of receipt that were not impacted by the strike.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and advise if anything changes.
