Aluminum Sulfate (Iron Free)

USALCO Aluminum Sulfate Solution is manufactured by dissolving alumina trihydrate (ATH) in water and sulfuric acid. To ensure the highest quality of this product, stringently selected raw materials and state-of-the-art manufacturing practices are used. USALCO Alum meets the specifications of the American Water Works Association Standard B403‐24 and is NSF/ANSI Standard 60 approved for the treatment of potable water.

Drinking water – removal of suspended matter. Wastewater treatment – coagulant / flocculent for the removal of suspended matter and phosphorus. Pulp and paper manufacturing – retention and drainage aid, charge neutralization, pH control, improved sizing efficiency. Food industry – firming agent in pickle rocessing. Used in leather tanning and fur dressing, in metallurgy in the pickling of metals, as an ionic scavenger in paper manufacturing, in textiles as a mordant in dyeing, and in water treatment as a primary coagulate for the removal of turbidity, color, suspended solids, heavy metals, and phosphorus.

Dosing
Storage Tanks & Piping

Tanks may be constructed of fiberglass/epoxy, or lined steel. Polypropylene or polyethylene tanks have also been used. Schedule 80 PVC or polymer lined piping can be used. Glass reinforced plastic or hard rubber are also suitable materials for piping.
